Arasaka T99 ALL matching, NO MUM

$800.00

This T99 is in good condition with the usual scratches and dings marks you'll find on a military surplus rifle. IT IS NOT, a last ditch poorly made rifle.  What it is and unusual about it, it is ALL matching including the bolt. Most of the capture rifles brought back by the Marines were taken aboard ship and stored with the rifles separated from the bolts. When the Marines departed, they took a rifle and a bolt as the left ship and there were no attempts to match them to each other. The bonus of a true capture rifle is the Chrysanthemum were intact and not defaced, but the rifles were not matching. This rifle has the Mum ground off, but the bolt serial matches the rest of the serial numbered parts are matching. It shows that the rifle was surrendered, after the surrender, as the story goes, that the Imperial Japanese Forces ground of the Mums to avoid the Emperor losing face. Another is the US Military did it so as an insult to the Japanese regime. What I believe this was surrendered to the Occupational forces and a GI brought it back intact, minus the Mum, after the rifle was surrendered. It has the Air Craft Sights. A nice addition, all matching to add to your shooting collection. Estate consignment sale. For more photos go to; https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1063535375
